Harris Patel, PA-C, ATC, is the newest member of the Sports Medicine South family. Board Certified Physician Assistant and a Certified Athletic Trainer. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants, National Athletic Trainers’Association, Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, and Georgia Athletic Trainers Association.
He started his health care career as an athletic trainer in 1998—and his experience reads like a sports fan’s dream come true. Patel has provided care to the University of Georgia football and track and field teams, the University of Alabama football and softball teams, the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets.
He’s also gotten to work at major events such as the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) World Championships, the NFL Invitational Camp (Scouting Combine), and multiple college football bowl games.
He was selected by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) to go to the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio do Janeiro, Brazil. Most recently, Harris was selected to be part of the USOC Medical staff to attend the 2008 Olympics Games in Beijing, China in August 2008.
Harris and his wife Purvi live in the Lawrenceville area. His hobbies include, spending time with family and friends, traveling, working out, and living life.
